You are an eternal spiritual being having a physical experience in Earth School. You came here with every ability you need to grow into the person your soul enrolled you in Earth School to become. Live your life in love, peace, and joy, confident that you will leave the body behind when you graduate and continue your eternal life in the next realm.
These are the conditions important to your developing into the person you came to Earth to become:
- Be open.
- Realize you are a spiritual being.
- Know you are an expression of Our Universal Intelligence.
- Know your loved ones who have transitioned are alive and happy.
- Be confident you have control of your life.
- Feel the desire to become a loving, compassionate, other-centered person.
- Know you can change your life to be filled with love, peace, and joy.
- Know how the person you want to become differs from the person you are now.
- Face negative emotions, understand them, and learn from them.
- Learn to feel, hear, and trust the guidance from our loved ones, guides, and others.
- Have the confidence to act upon your wisdom and the guidance you’re given.
- Learn who you are and love yourself.
- Learn to be a loving, compassionate, other-centered person.
- Have periods of relaxation and separation from daily life in contemplation and meditation.
- Learn to understand our feelings.
- Fill your life with experiences imbued with love, peace, and joy.
- Learn to be happy with no reason for it.
- Triumph and enjoy the successes in our lives.
- Help others as they learn, grow, and enjoy life.
Explanations of these conditions follow.
- Be open. Actively, regularly examine your beliefs and assumptions about life, and continuously adopt new beliefs that fit the new person you are becoming. All experiences and knowledge that come to you are opportunities to become all you can become in this lifetime if you learn and grow from them.
- Realize you are a spiritual being. You are having a brief Earth School experience, but you are not your body; you are not your fears; you are not your negative feelings; you are not your insecurities. You are a spiritual being, one with Our Universal Intelligence, having a physical experience your soul freely decided to engage in to enable you to learn lessons, grow in love and compassion, and be joyful.
- Know you are an expression of Our Universal Intelligence. God, the Divine, Allah, Brahmin, whatever name you give to the Ground of Our Being, is unconditionally loving, with no whisper of negative feelings toward anyone or anything. As manifestations of Our Universal Intelligence, our true nature is to love, live in peace, and be happy. You grow to be more the Universal Intelligence that is the base of your being when you reject the falsehoods you were taught by society as you grew up. We were taught that we can love only those who satisfy our needs and love us, that we will be loved only if we act in ways that others expect, that we can live in peace only with those who share our life characteristics, that we must follow the rules and play our roles in our circle’s system to be accepted and loved, and that we can be happy only when the world gives us what we feel we need to be happy. These were falsehoods. We must reject them and accept the truths at the base of our being masked by the untruths.
- Realize your loved ones who have transitioned are alive and happy. Know without a doubt that your loved ones and pets who have gone on to the next stage of their eternal lives have never left you—they are not “lost.” They have changed their focus to another channel but are only a thought away and are waiting patiently for you to join them.
- Know you have control of your life. You are not a weak, ineffectual bit of flotsam buffeted about in an unfeeling universe. You are the master of who you are, what fills the days of your life, and what you will become. You can live in love, peace, and joy if you exercise the control that has always been yours to change your life and circumstances by shaping your world to be filled with love, peace, and joy.
- Feel the desire to become a loving, compassionate, other-centered person. Having the life you want begins with deciding you want to be loving, compassionate, and other-centered. Growing into having that desire will take time and patience, but the growth will evolve naturally when you embrace the conviction that you are determined to be loving, compassionate, and other-centered to everyone every day. The love, compassion, and other-centeredness that are your fundamental nature will emerge naturally.
- Know you can change your life to be filled with love, peace, and joy. You were taught as a child to be dependent and feel you have no control over your life. Your family and society told you what to believe, how to act, and to be dependent on others and the world to satisfy your needs. Those were misguided teachings. You have control over your destiny. To grow into the person you came to Earth School to become, you must abandon those self-defeating sentiments and realize without doubt that you have the strength, ability, and support from unseen forces that will enable you to take control of your life so you fill it with love, peace, and joy as you learn lessons, grow in love and compassion, are continuously happy, and enjoy life’s experiences. You can make of your life what you want it to be.
- Know how the person you want to become differs from the person you are now. Look at people you admire and like or love. They might be acquaintances, characters in dramas, or historical figures. What is it about them that you admire? You don’t want to BE that person. Everyone is on their own path, with all their unique blemishes and failings; that’s part of being human. Examine what impressed you about their attitudes, emotions, and behavior. Some of that is what you want in your life. Be whatever that is. Don’t worry about having the motivation to be like that. Just adopt the characteristics; the motivation will emerge.
- Face negative emotions, understand them, and learn from them. Anger, fear, envy, malice, hate, guilt, and other negative emotions result from dysfunctional interpretations of life events. The negative emotions are not inevitable responses to the world around you. They are not inevitable responses to the events or people in your life. They are in your mind. You have control over whether you continue to feel them or change your interpretations of events so you feel at peace. When you feel negative emotions, examine them as you would a tiny creature you found on a walk in the forest. Look at them intently and understand what has led you to those emotions in your life. What are your interpretations that resulted in negative emotions? Don’t look away or anesthetize them with drugs, alcohol, work, or other diversion. Not facing the negative emotions will only leave them deep in your subconscious, where they will fester and cause continued misery and conflict when life circumstances drag them to the surface. Learn the lessons negative emotions are trying to teach you about your love and compassion for yourself and others. Change as your insights guide you to change.
- Learn to feel, hear, and trust the guidance from our loved ones, guides, and others. You are continually being given guidance and counsel from your guides, your soul, your loved ones, and people in the afterlife who are dedicated to your well-being. Learn to hear them and consider their counsel. You will know they are guiding you; thoughts will come to you and feel right and good for you. They will not influence you so strongly they interfere with your free will. And they will not come to you with a booming voice in the middle of the night. Their messages are coming into your subconscious continually. You must learn to allow them to bubble up into your awareness, where you can consider them and decide to use them to adjust your interpretations of events and your responses or discard them. You will know when they are good counsel.
- Have the confidence to act upon your wisdom and the guidance you’re given. Choosing not to act out of fear and lack of self-confidence when you believe action will be in your best interests keeps you at a lower level of development when you could raise yourself, maintains dysfunctional attitudes and actions, and perpetuates unpleasant situations. Walk boldly through your life, assured that you are a spiritual being with power and wisdom from being a part of Our Universal Intelligence that is the Ground of All Being.
- Learn who you are and love yourself. You are a spiritual being having a brief physical experience. This life has been created to help you learn lessons, grow in love and compassion, and feel love, peace, and joy. You are your student, and you are your teacher. Nothing in this life is worth your feeling unhappy or stressed. Everything is a lesson to be learned, and you will emerge from every lesson wiser and stronger. No trial will defeat you unless you allow it to. You are one with Our Universal Intelligence, wise, strong, and capable. Know that and be confident that you will overcome and learn from any challenge you confront.
- Learn to be a loving, compassionate, other-centered person. The primary lesson we all came to Earth School to learn is to be a loving, compassionate, other-centered person. Learn to love by loving. Seek out opportunities to show love for all you meet and linger with the feelings of love coming from them. You will learn to love by loving. And your love will return to you many times more potent.
- Have periods of relaxation and separation from daily life in contemplation and meditation. Allow regular, extended periods of relaxation from the things of everyday life. When you only drive through the paths your mind will take you through because they are well-known and well-trodden, you will carve out deeper ruts that will keep you where you are in your concerns and anxieties. Have regular moments when you leave the path and sit on the roadside to remember who you are in eternity and why this life and its trials are only temporary. You have more important things to occupy your mind.
- Learn to understand our feelings. Our feelings, attitudes, likes, fears, and desires are deeply rooted in our psyches. When you feel something that affects you, stop and learn its essence. Where did that come from? Why does it affect you? Do you want to continue to let it affect you? Understand the feeling rather than simply allowing it to overwhelm you.
- Fill your life with experiences imbued with love, peace, and joy. When you fill your life with things and people that are loving, peaceful, and joyful, you will be loving, peaceful, and joyful. If you allow things and people in your life that are hateful, contentious, and unhappy, you will feel hostile, contentious, and unhappy. Seek out happy events, experiences, and people. You will overcome anxieties and depression so you feel the happiness that is your birthright as a child of Our Universal Intelligence.
- Learn to be happy with no reason for it. Have little in your life that you must have to be happy. Each thing that you feel you must have to be happy is a cause of your unhappiness. Learn to be happy for no reason by ceasing to require anything in your life for you to be happy.
- Triumph and enjoy the successes in our lives. During your quiet times, reflect on your accomplishments and savor them. Don’t dwell on negative things in your life. Don’t relive what you feel were failures. They were just the chalkboard for lessons you were learning. They have been erased now that the lesson is over.
- Help others as they learn, grow, and enjoy life. Realize that part of your role in Earth School is to help others learn lessons, grow in love and compassion, and enjoy life. You are a teacher as well as a student. In your circle of people you live with or meet on occasion, feel each encounter is an opportunity to build them up and embolden them as they learn their own lessons and overcome trials in their lives. Resist feeling offended or unloved when they are immersed in their own struggles so they don’t see you, or they do things that upset you. They are learning hard lessons so their energy is focused inward. They will eventually come out to see you.
