What Is "Table Tipping"?
As physical mediumship grew after 1848, people were meeting regularly for extended periods in the hope of having physical manifestations developed through their energy combined with the energies of teams working unseen from the afterlife who honored the groups’ dedication by making things happen in the room. The result was that many experienced raps, taps, materializations, dialogues with spirits, table movements, light shows, movements of objects, and many other activities. These informal gatherings of family and friends attempting to contact the spirit realm became known as “home circles.”
Among the various phenomena explored by home circles, table tipping emerged as a particularly popular activity. In table tipping the circle members would sit around a table with their fingers lightly on the top of the table. They would sing and enjoy themselves to raise their energy. The table would vibrate, lift, and travel across the room. Often, the movements would spell out words the people in spirit wanted to convey to the circle.
Most importantly, no individual in the circle has their hands firmly on the table. There is no pushing or pulling to make the table move. As the table moves, it slides out from under the lightly touching fingers of the sitters so they have to adjust their position to keep up with the movements.
We know today that any circle could form and possibly experience table tipping. It just requires a harmonious group who meet regularly, sing to raise their vibration, and enjoy the experience. Eventually, the team working with them on the other side will develop the physical manifestations.
YouTube videos of circles experiencing table tipping follow. The second video is the Circle of the Masters of Light developed by the Afterlife Research and Education Institute and Seek Reality Online. An explanation of the procedure any group may go through to have table-tipping experiences follows the videos.

How Do People Go About Table Tipping?
Table tipping happens when a group of people who are harmonious with each other sit regularly for a period of time to allow the physical activities to develop. A team of people in the afterlife participate and help to build the energy in the circle. When both those in spirit and the people around the table have developed harmonious relationships, physical manifestations may begin to occur. One such manifestation is table tipping.
These are the procedures to possibly have the manifestation of table tipping.
- Select your group of 4 to 5 people willing to sit regularly for a long time to develop the energy. The circle must want to get together for the camaraderie and fun, much as a group gets together to play cards, bowl, or have other enjoyable fellowship. If the group is getting together only for physical manifestations, it will be more difficult to maintain the circle when results don’t come for months or years. Enjoy the fellowship for its own sake.
- Make sure that all of the same members can be present for each session and that they are willing to continue with the experiments for an extended period of time, or at least until you have achieved the desired effects for your experiment.
- You may have results more quickly if one or more sitters have an unusual amount of energy that will result in physical phenomena.
- The group must be harmonious and dedicated to working with the team on the other side. Any discord will diminish the energy.
- Choose a location like one of the members’ houses for the experiments. It should be a place where everyone can be comfortable and relaxed. You must be able to block out light coming through windows.
- Choose a table. You might use a small wooden table that can seat everyone comfortably, but is not too big or too heavy. The example videos that accompany this article are of wood or plastic. The table should not be heavy. The lighter the better.
- Sit around the table in the dark at first with everyone’s fingers lightly on the table. Later, as the energy develops, you may be able to have the experiences in dim light or even full light, as the accompanying video of the Harmonic Fellowship of Light illustrates. You then might stand so you can follow the table’s movements.
- Have everyone place their fingers on the table without pressure that might make the table jostle a little. The sitters have no part in making the table move. Their energy combined with the energy of the team in spirit working with them will cause the table to move.
- Sing uplifting songs, such as popular oldies from a standard list of audio recordings playing during the session that stays the same across meetings. Have a good time. This is an opportunity for fellowship as you wait patiently for physical manifestations. At a later time, as the energy develops, you may not need to sing at all. Allow the development of the energy in the group to determine when you can stop singing.
- Maintain a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Joke and have fun. If you are too uptight about things happening, you will not develop the energy the group needs. Relax and don’t concentrate on getting the table to move. The table tipping will develop on its own.
- Don’t spend the time gossiping or otherwise having casual conversations. Focus on the harmony of the group. Quips and pleasant banter that doesn’t extend into conversations are desirable. Have fun.
- Be patient. Be sure that the group meets regularly, once or twice a week if possible. To succeed, the group needs to be dedicated and willing to sit through several uneventful sessions before phenomena actually occurs.
- Make sure that the meetings are always free from interruption. Prepare for the meetings by turning off all devices that might interrupt the meeting, including TV and phones.
- If you are sitting in the dark, you might set up an infra-red camera that will record both audio and video in the darkness.
Conclusion About Your Table Tipping

The team is dedicated to working with you because you are investing your time and energy in this endeavor. You will become enthralled by the fact that your circle is receiving support from people living in the life after this life who have come to you at this time.
