“Still Here”: A Short Film About the Love Death Cannot Diminish
Ask anyone who has lost someone dear what they long for most, and the answer is rarely complicated. They want to know that the person they love is okay, and that the bond between them did not end when the body did. It is the question underneath every night of missing someone, and it is the question a new short film takes on directly.
The film is called Still Here, created by Omar Kahn, an evidential psychic medium. Omar has spent seventeen years sitting with people who have lost someone they love, and in all that time he has told them the same thing. Still Here distills those years into four minutes. He wrote and produced it, wrote the music at its heart, and created it with filmmakers Adam Reign and Marco Sanginetto. It was released on the OMSOUL MUSIC channel in September 2026, following a launch in Brazil. You can watch it below, and you can learn more about Omar’s work at omkahn.com.
Watch it once just to feel it. Then come back to read the summary following the video controls. Music and video carry what paragraphs cannot. The ideas inside the film line up with what people living in the afterlife have been telling us for decades.
Love Is More Than a Memory
When someone we love precedes into the next life, well-meaning people often tell us we will always have our memories. Memories matter, but the film points toward something larger. The love you still feel is not a recording being replayed. It is a live connection, still running between two people who happen to be living in different realms. That distinction changes grief. A memory is something you keep. A connection is something you are still in.
Death Changes the Form, Not the Person
The film’s central idea is that a life does not end when the body does; it changes form. This matches what we hear consistently from communicators in the afterlife. They are the same people, with the same personalities, humor, and affection, simply without the heaviness of the physical body and the misunderstandings that complicate relationships on Earth. Your loved one is not a faded version of who they were. If anything, they see you, and themselves, more clearly than ever.
Your Joy Is Not a Betrayal
One of the most tender messages in the film speaks to a fear many grieving people carry quietly: that laughing again, enjoying a good day, or eventually loving someone new means leaving the person behind. The film says the opposite. When you live fully, you honor them, and your happiness reaches them. Anyone who has walked with a grieving friend knows how much guilt hangs on this single worry. Hearing, from the other side, that they want us to be happy can lift a weight people have carried for years. Living well is not forgetting. It is carrying them forward.
The Ways They Reach Us
Loved ones reach us through dreams, through the sense of being thought of, through the tug we feel to call someone who can no longer pick up, and through warmth, light, and small signs in ordinary moments. These match the patterns people report most often: dreams that feel far more vivid than ordinary dreams, a sudden memory that arrives unbidden, a feeling of presence in a quiet room. Sometimes it is a wave of sadness that turns out not to be sadness at all, but the nearness of someone we love, unrecognized.
They Share Both Our Best and Our Hardest Days
Our loved ones are not watching from a distance. They rise with us on our good days, and they stay close on the days we fall apart. That fits what mediums and communicators describe: loved ones come to us when we are distressed, and they stand among us at weddings, graduations, and other milestones. They do not measure our lives by what was missing or imperfect. From where they stand, the messy, painful, ordinary human days look like what they truly were: love.
What They Want Us to Know
If you boil the film down to a few sentences, they are these. Our loved ones are proud of us. They do not hold our faults or missteps against us. They are not gone in any way that matters. And the love that shaped our world still surrounds it. That is why the film ends with a simple statement rather than an argument. It is not trying to persuade you with evidence. It is trying to let you feel what the evidence points toward.
Answering Back
Here is where we can add something practical. The film speaks in the voice of the loved one, but the conversation does not have to be one-way. Communication with loved ones in the afterlife is mind to mind, and it tends to arrive as the first thought or impression that comes when we stop and speak to them.
Try this. The next time you feel their presence, or a memory arrives out of nowhere, or a wave of grief rolls in, pause. Say hello. Tell them how you feel. Then pay attention to the first thought that comes back, and answer it. Do not judge or analyze it, and keep the exchange going. Like any skill, it gets easier with practice, and anyone can learn it. The free guided training linked below walks you through it step by step.
Why a Film Like This Matters
This film gives grieving people permission to understand the truth that our loved ones are alive and well in the afterlife. Paired with the documented evidence for survival of consciousness, including recorded voices, verified mediumship, and near-death experiences, it offers a comforting window onto what that evidence suggests: love does not end. Seventeen years of sitting with the bereaved, and a four-minute distillation of what those years taught, is one more voice joining a very long chorus.
So watch it again, and let it be an invitation. The people we love are not somewhere beyond reach. They are still here, and they are listening.
