People’s near-death experiences convinced two psychology professors of the reality of the afterlife

Jim Tucker and Jennifer Kim Penberthy, psychiatry professors at the University of Virginia, have studied near-death experiences, young children who report memories of a past life, after-death communications, and accounts by people who say they were visited by a deceased loved one. Most experiencers describe the event as positive. It made them feel more caring and less materialistic. They lose their fear of death. The result is a restoration and reassurance for the experiencers, helping them let go of some of their grief.
