- Nothing in this universe is solid. And indeed, the universe is almost entirely empty space. It consists of nothing but energy, and apparently that energy actually is consciousness.
- Since the universe exists, something must have caused it! Science cannot identify the universe’s Uncaused Cause. But we know that something must have brought it into being.
- Thousands of verified communications from the dead received through physical mediums primarily in southern England and in the eastern United States between the 1850s and the 1930s all report to us in detail on precisely the same afterlife reality. Such close agreement across all the evidence would not be possible if the afterlife were not real. Ours is the first generation to be able to demonstrate with certainty that our lives are in fact eternal.
- The Biblical Teacher who is Jesus, around whose name the Roman Emperor Constantine built the Christian religion, is a genuine historical figure with first-hand knowledge of the eternity that we share. In fact, there is more evidence for the life of Jesus than there is for the lives of any of His ancient contemporaries. And as we demonstrated in #2 of this series, Jesus did indeed rise from the dead. At least Jesus’s part of the Christian religion is real!
So this is humankind’s pivotal moment. We are transitioning from the end of the material phase of human existence and entering our spiritual phase, and we who are alive on earth now are privileged to be part of the amazing transition which apparently has always been humankind’s destiny. We are at last beginning to realize that we are inherently spiritual beings. Our transition to living as an integral part of what is a deeply love-based greater reality will not be immediate. But if we will follow Jesus as He leads us in this early stage of our transition, we can begin to envision for humankind a very much brighter future.
Modern afterlife research has demonstrated that each of us is densely connected with Spirit. Each person on earth has the constant guidance of beings who are not now in bodies, and as the veil between this world and the next thins and making contact becomes easier, ever more of us are in direct contact now with our spirit guide friends. As the French Jesuit priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin has said, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Surely this deepening spiritual connection must be why we long have had the sense that there must be an unseen force! So even beyond the fact that the very existence of the material universe implies that there must be an Uncaused Cause, and beyond the fact that all this evidence developed by afterlife researchers argues as well for God’s existence, there is also the fact that every one of us has constant individual disembodied guidance. Our impulse and yearning toward God has to be the central fact of our whole human experience!
So it surely is long past time for us to try to discover the genuine God behind it all. We hope to smile and say “Howdy!” if we can. We can at least learn whether God is a Friendly, or whether God is the judgmental crank that most religions have been holding over our heads for so long….
